about
Emma Charles is a 25-year-old indie/pop singer songwriter, making her mark amidst the vibrant sonic landscape of Los Angeles. Inspired by musicians like Bon Iver, Holly Humberstone, The 1975 and Phoebe Bridgers, Charles also takes inspiration from the past from artists such as Joni Mitchell and Steve Nicks to create a distinct, timeless sound that is all her own.
Originating from the artistic town of Westport, CT, Emma's songwriting prowess was honed at Berklee College of Music, graduating with a BM degree in 2019.
Now, Charles weaves her musical stories, collaborating with producer Doug Schadt, known for his work with artists like Maggie Rogers, Claire Rosinkranz, and Ashe. Says Schadt, “It's rare as a producer to come across an artist who is completely open to experimentation, while maintaining their vision of what a song is supposed to be”.
Her latest musical creation, the EP "Crying in the Delta Lounge," has received widespread acclaim, finding a well-deserved place on the prestigious Spotify playlist, "Fresh Finds."
As we near the end of 2023, Emma Charles is gearing up for an exciting Holiday single release. Furthermore, she has a highly anticipated 7-song EP set to be launched in early 2024. Stay tuned for a remarkable musical journey that stands out from the norm, as her music creates a unique atmosphere.
